Rebecca Haisma HPD CBT (hyp) MNRPC GHR Reg. is a registered clinical hypnotherapist and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) practitioner, who provides treatment at her clinic in central Bath and Bristol, and on site in certain circumstances. She specialises in integrating the delivery of hypnotherapy and CBT when working with clients suffering from complex conditions. She also works with people in business, sportspeople and performers in a range of fields.
Clinical hypnotherapy is used in hospitals throughout the UK to treat obsessive compulsive disorder, panic attacks, anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, irritable bowel syndrome and asthma. It is also used in some NHS settings as part of the care plan for patients suffering from cancer and other life-limiting conditions to combat symptoms such as anxiety, chronic pain, insomnia and compromised immunity, as well as being trialled for use in pregnancy and birth. It is a useful treatment option for stress related sypmtoms in a range of conditions, promoting relaxation and anxiety reduction. It is recognised as form of orthodox treatment by the British Medical Association.
CBT is the form of psychotherapy recommended by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) for the treatment of depression, OCD, generalised anxiety disorder, panic disorder and PTSD. CBT is a collaborative form of therapy allowing the client to take ownership of their own wellness and work with the therapist to achieve mutually agreed goals. According to The British Medical Journal, the effectiveness of CBT is enhanced when it is applied in conjunction with hypnotherapy.
Rebecca Haisma takes a generally solution focussed approach to therapy, which means that her focus is on making positive changes to thoughts and behaviours in the present, not spending many months exploring past events . Therapy is targetted and is not intended to be long term. The full participation of the client is an essential part of the process and may involve undertaking structured exercises between sessions.
Initial consultations are always free and give clients the opportunity to gather whatever infomation they need to decide if this form of therapy is right for them. All following appointments last for one hour and cost £60.00.
